The Mega Mixer: A Powerful Night of Community Connection

March 21, 2025 – Ironton, OH

This past Tuesday, civic pride and collaboration were on full display as over 40 passionate community members gathered for The Mega Mixer: An After-Hours for Civic Organizations—an evening designed to bring together leaders, volunteers, and changemakers from the Greater Ironton area.

Hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton, the event was a tremendous success, bringing together eleven impactful organizations:

• Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton

• Ironton Rotary

• Ironton Lions Club

• Ironton Alive

• Ironton Arts Council

• Inspired Opportunities

• Harvest for the Hungry

• Lawrence County Historical Society

• Southern Wayne Advocacy Council

• Ashland Rotary

• Ashland Kiwanis

Each group had the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their mission, and highlight their current and upcoming projects. The room was full of energy, ideas, and a genuine sense of purpose as individuals connected over their shared commitment to service.

We were also honored to welcome guests and representatives from several local institutions and government bodies, including:

• Ohio University Southern

• Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce

• City of Ironton

• Lawrence County DD Open Doors School

• Ironton Housing Authority

• Ashland City Council

• The Paramount Arts Center

• The Mayor of Bellefonte, Kentucky

A very special thank you goes out to our generous host sponsors who helped make the event possible and comfortable for all who attended:

• Mailroom Studios Event Center

• Oakridge House Event Center and AirBnB

• Grateful Spirits Mobile Bartending

• Oops! I Shirt Myself custom signage and apparel

From meaningful conversations to potential future collaborations, the night sparked many new connections and inspired everyone in the room. It served as a powerful reminder that when we work together, we can achieve more for our communities.

We’re incredibly grateful to all who participated, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going. The Mega Mixer was just the beginning—great things are ahead for Ironton and the surrounding region.

Stay connected with us for future events, opportunities to get involved, and updates on the projects that were born out of this amazing night.

Together, we’re stronger. Together, we serve.

Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton’s “Mingle Bells” Event Raises Community Engagement and Supports Local Playground Expansion

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton announced the success of its recent “Mingle Bells” event, which took place on Tuesday evening at Mailroom Studios. Nearly fifty community members gathered for an evening of networking, learning, and celebration, as attendees discovered more about the Kiwanis mission to help children.

One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of a $7,000 check to the Lawrence County Developmental Disabilities Open Doors School. This contribution will fully fund the first phase of their playground expansion project—adding additional swing sets and accessible features that ensure every child has the opportunity to play, learn, and thrive.

“The energy in the room was incredible,” said Sean Davis, club President. “It’s inspiring to see so many people eager to join our mission of serving children. With the generous support of our fundraisers, and through our ongoing projects, we’re creating spaces where all kids can just be kids.”

Hosted by Mailroom Studios in Ironton, the event was supported by local businesses and community leaders. The presentation of the oversized check—provided by Oops! I Shirt Myself—added a festive element to the evening’s proceedings, underscoring the importance of community-based projects and tangible results.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ironton invites anyone interested in contributing to local youth initiatives to join their regular weekly meetings. The club meets every Tuesday at 5:30 PM at Ohio University Southern in the Ohio Room. New members and volunteers are welcome, and there are a variety of opportunities to get involved.
